  Athletics
 Ascension Academy offers Girls Volleyball in grades 6-12 and Boys and Girls Basketball in Grades 6-12. In addition, the fall of 2008 will see the initiation of the Ascension Swim Team for grades 9-12. Our mascot is the Cardinal.
We compete with the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). Our schedule of interscholastic opponents pits us against local and regional private schools, with occasional competitions that involve travel out of the area—but all of our games are played in Texas!
Our teams continue to grow in numbers and capability every year. The 2008 basketball season ended with the Lady Cardinals a Regional Finalist. They were just one game away from going to the State Tournament!
