Ascension Athletes Perform Extremely Well at TAPPS State Track Meet

Amarillo, TX- In their first year to ever participate in the State Track Meet, Ascension athletes performed extremely well at the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) State Track meet in Waco, Saturday, May 8, 2010.

Junior April Irving, Sophomore Alex Matos, Freshman Kelsey Wagner, and Freshman Emily Koetting placed third in the 800 m relay.

Irving placed second in the 200 m; second in High Jump; third in the 100 m; and fourth in Long Jump.

Freshman Evan Lewis placed third in the 300 m Hurdles.

Junior Awstyn Cordova placed fifth in the 110 m Hurdles and eighth in the 300 m Hurdles.

Freshman Austin Galvan placed eighth in the 110 m Hurdles.

Led by Track Coach David Sanders, these students are natural athletes! Ascension Academy administration, faculty and staff look forward to another successful track season next year.
