Ascension Graduates Tenth Year of Graduates 

Amarillo, TX- Experience a unique high school graduation like no other in the area at Ascension Academy, Friday, May 28, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the Ascension Academy Auditorium.

Ten years ago, Ascension faculty and staff watched as our first three graduates walked across the stage. Tonight, the entire faculty and staff of Ascension (many who have been with Ascension since the first class walked across the stage) will be dressed in robes as they watch the eight graduates of the Class of 2010 take their diplomas.

Featuring key note speaker Wendy Marsh and words from Ascension’s Valedictorian Hannah Boren and Salutatorian Haley Boren (twins), tonight’s ceremony promises to be a moving occasion.

Gwendolyn O’Brien “Wendy” Marsh is a strong proponent of education in Amarillo and is known for her civic efforts in the Amarillo Community. Marsh moved to Amarillo when she was a child, and she and her husband, Stanley Marsh 3, raised their five children here.

Marsh earned collegiate degrees at Smith College, Cornell University and the University of Texas School of Law. During her years in law school, she was the first female editor of the Texas Law Forum, and was elected to the forum’s board of directors.

In Amarillo Marsh has served on the boards of many organizations including: the Environmental Defense Fund, Southwest Organ Bank, Association of Community College Trustees, Texas Arts Alliance, Amarillo United Fund, Amarillo College Foundation, and Amarillo College Board of Regents.

Marsh and her family donated the 42 acres on which Ascension Academy sits on North Soncy.
