Mrs. Moutos earned a BS in English and Speech Secondary Education and MA in English and History from WTSU. She holds a Texas Teacher Certificate in English and Speech. She was awarded Outstanding Secondary Teacher in Texas by the Texas Council Teachers of English in 1992 and her 35 year service pin by Canyon ISD. Mrs. Moutos was also named Mentor/Teacher for Glencoe by McGraw-Hill Publishing Company. She was awarded a grant from the National Foundation of the Humanities and attended a seminar in Greek Tragedy at Stanford University. She also attended a seminar on Geoffrey Chaucer at Cambridge University. She is certified to teach Advanced Placement,as well as Gifted/Talented. Mrs. Moutos established the Advanced Placement program in Canyon ISD, where she was the Vertical AP Team leader at Randall High School. She has been the English Department Chair at Canyon High School and Randall High School. She is currently the English Department Chair at Ascension Academy.
