Mrs. Pirtle attended Texas Tech University and completed a BS degree in Chemistry with a minor in Math from West Texas University. She first joined the Ascension staff in 2009. Mrs. Pirtle previously taught at Randall High School receiving the Teacher Excellence Award in 1995 and the Educator of the Year Award from TAME in 1999.

Mrs. Pirtle is a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and enjoys spending time with all her grandchildren when possible. She also enjoys gardening, reading, playing the piano and solving puzzles. She serves as social chairman for her Sunday School class at Polk Street UMC and writes a weekly newsletter for the class.
