Financial Aid
Financial Aid may be awarded annually to both current students and enrolling new students based on a combination of demonstrated financial need and academic performance.
Who is eligible to apply for financial aid?
Families of new and returning students may apply, and tuition assistance may be offered based on financial need combined with academic performance at Ascension or their previous school.
How do I apply?
Ascension Academy uses FAST – Financial Aid for School Tuition, a web-based service of Independent School Management (ISM), to process your financial aid application. FAST will provide standardized and impartial financial aid recommendations to Ascension Academy in a confidential setting. The fee for the FAST service is $36, to be paid online. To begin your financial aid application, please go to:

What information will I need?
Copies of the following will be submitted to FAST in an envelope available in the Office of Admission:
- Current Federal Tax Forms and Schedules
- Previous Year Federal Income Tax Forms and Schedules
- Current W2s, 1099s, and K1s
- Current Business Taxes and Schedules (if applicable)
** Please be aware that your application will be considered only after Ascension has received notification from FAST that all required documentation has been received for processing.**
When do I apply?
Application opens on December 5, 2011, and applications must be completed by May 14, 2012. In light of our rapid growth and expanding enrollment, families are encouraged to apply as early as possible to increase the likelihood of available funds.
What if I miss the deadline? May I still apply?
Your application may be submitted late to FAST and will be considered individually by the Committee. Every attempt to meet your financial need will be made providing Ascension’s financial aid resources are still available following the initial distribution.
Who makes the decision?
Final determination of financial aid awards will be made by our Financial Aid Committee upon consideration of the results of your application to FAST.
When will I have an answer?
You will be notified in writing of the Committee’s recommendations shortly after decisions are made.
Are there other options for tuition assistance?
Yes. Partial tuition scholarships may be offered to new students, and Achievement Awards may be offered to returning students. Please see Board of Regents Scholarship Competition and Academic Awards for a detailed description of additional opportunities for tuition assistance.
Financial Aid Policy
Financial Aid grants are governed by the following stipulations:
- Families receiving financial aid agree to the school’s ten monthly payment plan tuition amount, payable by check or bank draft (excluding credit card payment).
- Families who receive financial aid are required to pay their tuition on time each month as agreed in the Enrollment Contract. If payment is not received by the 15th of the month, the financial aid privilege may be withdrawn. Should financial aid be withdrawn due to a delinquent account, families are required to pay the full basic tuition for the remainder of the academic year.
- Students receiving financial aid are expected to maintain passing grades in all subjects throughout the school year and consistently exhibit excellent citizenship. If a student does not meet these expectations, financial aid will be reviewed. If the circumstances warrant, the aid may be withdrawn. In such a case, the parents/guardians will be required to pay full tuition until the student’s academic and/or conduct performance merits reinstatement of the financial aid grant.
- The school is aware that changes in employment and living situations may create hardships during the school year. In the event of such changes, families may request reconsideration of the terms of the financial aid agreement.
- A parent/guardian with a difference of opinion about the amount of financial aid granted may make a written appeal to the Head of the Financial Aid Committee within two weeks of notification of the award. A final decision will be made and communicated immediately to the parent/guardian.
