From the Director

Dear Prospective Student and Parent:

Welcome to our website, and thank you for your interest in Ascension Academy!  Through our application process, we hope to get to know your family and to help you learn more about our wonderful school.

The secret of Ascension’s excellence has been discovered by the Amarillo community!  The rapid growth we have been experiencing continues, and we opened the school year with a student body of 150 motivated and talented students.

We have, of course, maintained our commitment to a safe, nurturing, and personalized learning environment with small class sizes and a student/teacher ratio of 8:1, while enriching our program with an increased number of studio art classes, two levels of middle school theater, two advanced technology courses, and a one-semester College Seminar for our Juniors and Seniors. 

Early application for admission for the 2012-2013 school year will increase the likelihood of available space for your student.  While our school meets the needs of many children, our challenging college-preparatory curriculum is not for every student’s learning style.  Our goal is to help each prospective family determine if Ascension is the ‘right fit’ for their child and their family.

We hope to see you at our fall and spring Open Houses (November 17 and March 22) where you will get a more comprehensive understanding of our school.  Additionally, your student is invited to participate in our annual Board of Regents Scholarship Competition on March 31, 2012, in which new students compete for partial tuition scholarships for the coming year.

An excellent way for students to become familiar with us is to spend a day as the guest of a student Ascension Ambassador.  They will meet teachers, attend classes with potential classmates, have lunch, and get a true feel for the difference Ascension Academy can make in their lives.
