Theater at Ascension Academy

Theater Arts is one of Ascension’s fastest growing programs. Students learn the basics of acting, design, and technical theater. A comprehensive instruction in the history of theater, Shakespeare, and theatrical make-up is an essential component of the Ascension dramatic experience.

During the 2007-08 school years, Ascension Academy Drama produced its first One Act Play. The Cardinals competed and won the regional PSIA One Act Play competition in Lubbock. They advanced to the state PSIA competition in San Antonio where they placed fourth.

Ascension prides itself on offering excellence in the arts and is dedicated to building an outstanding Theater Arts curriculum. Students in both Middle School and High School are encouraged to develop their acting talents through our theatre arts program.
