Dr. Summerhill earned his B.A. at Shippensburg State University, an M.Div. at Wesley Theological Seminary, an M.A. and Ph.D. at The Catholic University of America. He began working at the Wyoming Seminary (which is neither in Wyoming nor a seminary) in Kingston, Pennsylvania in1986 and ended up serving that school as Academic Dean, Senior Chaplain, and member of the history and English departments. The Ascension Academy Board of Regents hired Dr. Summerhill in the Spring of 2008 to join the Ascension Family as Head of School. He assumed his duties in July of 2008.
