What is School Choice?
School Choice, as Texas SB2, was passed in the last legislative session of 2025. Funding will be available as an Education Savings Account (ESA) for students who apply to the program, who qualify, and who are notified of their acceptance. The program and funding will begin for the 2026-2027 school year to give families more choices for their child’s education.
What is an Education Savings Account?
An Education Savings Account (ESA) provides parents of students in non-public Texas schools with a publicly funded, state government-authorized savings account. Parents may use the funds to pay for eligible expenses, including school tuition, uniforms, tutoring, online education programs, therapies for students with special needs, textbooks, or other instructional materials. See details below for more information.
