Zeba Quast Schouten is in her third year of teaching Ascension’s AP English III. She earned a B.A. and M.A. from Texas A&M in English. Her Ph.D. is in Secondary Content Area Reading and is also from Texas A&M. During her 20 year teaching career that spans from graduate school to 6th grade, Dr. Schouten has taught Freshman English and Curriculum & Instruction classes at Texas A&M University, Curriculum & Instruction classes at Tarleton State University, English II and III at Yoakum High School, and language arts at St. Joseph's School.
After retiring from teaching, she joined Mike, her husband, in the dairy business. They own and operate a dairy west of Amarillo. She has 3 children. Her oldest daughter is married and lives in Austin. Troy and Campbell are twins who are tenth graders at Ascension.
