Music expresses that which cannot be put into words
and that which cannot remain silent.

The Texas Panhandle's only private college preparatory school for students in grades 6 through 12
The Wind Ensemble is a vibrant part of life at Ascension. Special Assemblies, Christmas Concerts, Pep Rallies, Spring Trips, and Fine Arts Night are some of the events that our Band Students enjoy at our school.
There are two levels of Bands in the Wind Ensemble program at Ascension Academy. Winds I is for beginner and early intermediate players. Instrument options are flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and Euphonium. Other instruments such as oboe, bassoon and french horn are welcome but require private lesson instruction as a supplement to classroom instruction. Percussion is not offered in Winds I.
Winds II is by audition only and is offered to more advanced players. Private lessons are highly recommended and are offered by professional players during class time. Percussion is open to students with previous and continuous private lesson experience.
The Ascension Academy Wind Ensemble program is directed by Kellie Bartley. Mrs. Bartley has over twenty years of experience teaching both String and Wind Instruments. After earning her Bachelor of Music Degree and Horn Performance Certificate from The University of Texas at Austin, Bartley began her career in Houston. She has also had successful music programs in Boston, Worcester, and Springfield, Massachusetts before moving to the Panhandle in 2006.
