The Ascension Academy Athletic Department provides a unifying influence within our student body and between our school and community. The Ascension athletic family endeavors to provide each participant with positive experiences that will help them develop their own philosophy toward commitment, responsibility, and loyalty which will guide them for post-school competition in society.
We believe athletics develops leadership and responsibility. Responsibility to team, self, and family is a vital aspect of education within the athletic department. Leadership skills develop when students are challenged and taught how to not only be leaders but also be followers. The experiences gained through athletics gives student-athletes tools that can be applied in all aspects of life.
The Ascension Academy Athletic Department provides opportunities for high school student-athletes through the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) and the middle school student-athlete through the West Texas Christian Athletic Association (WTCAA) sponsored activities. Interscholastic athletics is a significant part of the whole person approach at Ascension. Athletic opportunities allow students to be a part of a team, serve their school, enjoy fellowship, and develop intellectually, physically, and emotionally.
