From 2007-2009 Coach Sanders served as the Athletic Director at Heritage Classical Academy, while also coaching Varsity Football, Basketball, and Track. In 2009, Coach Sanders came to Ascension where he started the cross country and track programs that he continues to lead today. From 2009-2016 he also coached the varsity boys basketball team, before stepping down to the middle school level to coach the girls basketball team. His successes as a coach have led to seven TAPPS state team titles in cross country and track between the varsity girls and boys programs as well as numerous individual state titles, including the TAPPS 1A State record in long jump.  At the middle school level, his teams have won multiple WTCAA district championships in cross country, track and field, and basketball.

Coach Sanders also serves as the History Department Chair and teaches American History, Preparatory US History I, and US History II AP/ Dual Credit
